Daisy Birthing Couples Workshop
Mae Bee Baby offer the opportunity for Mums and Dads to be in North Bedfordshire to prepare for labour and birth in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. The Daisy Birthing couples course gives you the labour and birth education you need in pregnancy without any of the embarrassing role play or ice breaker activities men tend to want to avoid. This antenatal session is suitable for couples at any stage in pregnancy and provides a great introduction or compliment to Daisy Birthing classes.
Mae Bee Baby Birth Preferences - It's a good idea to make a birth prefence document during later pregnancy of how your would like to give birth. By doing so you will be making a conscious choice before birth about how you want your labour to be managed. Whether you would like a natural, active birth or an elective c-section, there are a range of options to consider such as whether you wish to be active in labour, use relaxation techniques, perhaps inspired by yoga and self hypnosis, music, aromatherapy, massage, delivery of the placenta & cutting of the cord, skin to skin contact, as well as breastfeeding after birth. This is not an exhaustive list and we will cover any concerns you may have related to labour, birth and the immediate post birth period.
Mae Bee Baby Breastfeeding information and support - This 2 hour workshop is for Couples who are planning to breastfeed, and for Couples who are undecided whether to breast feed and would like more information.
Areas we cover in the workshop are how you feel about breastfeeding, , how to establish effective breastfeeding, including positioning and attachment for comfort and ease, what to expect - a day in the life of the breastfeeding mother and her family, expressing and storing breast milk, equipment and resources to aid easy breastfeeding, common hurdles and ailments and how to overcome them, how Dads can help with breastfeeding, potential difficulties and how to handle them and get support
This course is geared towards Couples rather than just women - many men feel excluded and 'useless' when their partner is breastfeeding as they assume there isn't anything they can do to help, and if the baby is crying that baby just needs a feed. This can be very frustrating for both sides of the Couple! This workshop will show the ways that men are crucial in helping mum breastfeed successfully, and provides lots of practical education, support and suggestions.
Mae Bee Baby care - A 2 hour workshop looking at different baby care routines and tips on how to care for your newborn baby, with the aim to instill you with confidence.
